The electronic control system along with the gap detection system prevent the jamming of passengers or objects during the closing of the door. A programmable control unit monitors the closing process of the door while passengers board and exit – the gap detection function detects extremely thin objects even when the door is closed.
The electronic control unit detects a jammed person or object (approx. 30 mm thick) via the rubber profile contact. The current from the drive unit is reversed, thus stopping the closing process and opening the automatic door. If the object is extremely thin (up to approx. 6 mm) or the door is already closed, the gap detection system detects the jamming and sends a signal: the door either opens automatically or the driver is informed.
