With the new generation of drive systems "VARIDOrailG3“, a milestone in railroad vehicle doors has been set. By consistently applying light-weight construction and system refinement, a compact and lightweight drive was created, achieving a mass reduction of 20% in comparison to other drive systems. By using a mechanically coupled reduction of shutting speed, paired with an increase in shutting force, a more sensitive closing process for railroad vehicle doors was achieved. A technical refinement which not only makes the closing process look better, it also contributes to a greater ease of maintenance. Approved control hardware and a software with adjustable parameters complete the innovation and make the new drive system an attractive product.
