HÜBNER enhances the AutoTram®

HÜBNER GmbH and the Institute for Transportation and Infrastructure Systems in Dresden introduced a flexible vehicle concept for buses on the IAA in Hanover, in reaction to a changed demand in public transportation. This new development is a bi-directional, coupleable vehicle with a length of 24 m. If required, it can be used in coupled state as high-capacity vehicle or, in de-coupled state, as a single bus. The possibility to insert an additional module creates a vehicle with a length of 36 m which is especially suitable for rapid transit bus systems in Central and South America and Asia. The concept is modeled after the AutoTram®, a previous development of the Fraunhofer Institute.
