That’s something which is evident right from the start when you examine HÜBNER’s new
EXEO II lift system
for wheelchair access to public transport vehicles. And of course it is a well-known fact that HÜBNER’s range concertina bellows for inter-vehicle connections are second to none when it comes to style.
EXEO II was launched on the market in March 2009. Compared with its predecessor, it features a more ergonomic and user-friendly handrail arrangement, and is altogether more attractive. Appearance, however, is not all. EXEO II is also considerably more sophisticated. The electric components – such as the drive system for the bridging plate and the movement of handrails – have been replaced by mechanical ones. The main objective in redesigning the lift was to make servicing and maintenance easier. Continuous operational safety is now guaranteed by uninterrupted electronic control, with all the drive systems housed within the lift itself, thus making for easy installation, whatever the type of vehicle involved. Redesigning has also reduced the weight of the lift by 10 kg.
It was not long ago that HÜBNER launched a range of
coloured concertina bellows
, for use in the articulated connections of buses. The colouring can be customised according to operators’ wishes, to extend the livery – or an advertisement – over the full length of the vehicles without an ugly grey break. The fact that the concertina bellows expands and contracts on curves means that an “animated” section can be cunningly woven into the centre part of an advertisement scheme!
